Cross river state Governor, Ben Ayade has directed that all Cross Riverians who are students of CRUTECH should suspend the payment of school fees indefinitely.
He make this disclosure via his Instagram page, read below 👇.
“With my inauguration of the Judicial Panel of Enquiry on Police Brutality and Extra-Judicial Killings today in calabar we have now started the process of bringing restitution and healing for the families of individuals who have suffered oppression on the hands of SARS and the police.
In the same vein, “I have directed all chairmen of councils to make an immediate recruitment of 1000 young people, which means 18000 young people into the local government workforce while the state civil service Commission will also absorb 2000 more young Cross Riverians making it a total of 20000 jobs.
I also hereby direct that all Cross Riverians who are students of CRUTECH should suspend the payment of school fees indefinitely.
All of these are measures to cushion the effects of the economic reality currently facing our youths.
These employments I have directed to be strictly for the poor and vulnerable of our society and not to be politicized .
I identify with the Endsars movement and I urge the panel to do a thorough job by ensuring that justice is not only done but seen to have been done.
As a state that is sensitive to the yearnings and wishes of it’s citizens, we will do all we can to see that those who have been killed, maimed and lost their livelihoods are adequately compensated.
